ArtsConnect provides several textile and sewing classes, Adult Sewing and Cosplay. Select the class that suits you best. The Adult Sewing class teaches the basics of sewing and quilting. The Cosplay class is a more creative sewing class where students design and create their own unique costumes. They might use a sewing machine or just construct using foam and fabric.
COSPLAY THEATRICAL COSTUMING

Bring your Cosplay ideas to life! Make a costume for Cosplay, Halloween, or Theatrical Performance. Participants will learn the costuming process of planning, patterning, constructing, finishing, and alterations. This class will be an Open Studio format where the instructor works individually with students on their own costume ideas. Students provide their own materials. Sewing machines and leatherworking equipment provided.
Classes are held on Tuesdays from 6:30 - 8:30 pm at ArtsConnect Arts Center, 9158 Winton Road, the building behind the Springfield Township Fire Station.
wiQuilting is a great way to learn to sew. Each session will feature a different theme creating unique quilted works of art. Students are asked to bring various items based on the class project theme. In Session 3, students will make the Carpenter Star Quilt Top. Please bring 3 yards of fabric, medium and dark shades. Fabric is available for purchase on location or students may bring their own. See the description of the Carpenter quilt below. In Session 5, students will learn how to Quilt andBind.Please bring 3 yards of fabric, medium and dark shades. Fabric is available for purchase on location or students may bring their own. In Session 6 students will make various Holiday Items, such as a holiday table runner and fabric gift bags. Fabric will be provided and is reflected in the cost.
ArtsConnect is honored to partner with Dina Jacquemin of Sew Many Things, LLC in Wyoming. She is an accomplished quilter and seamstress. Classes are held at Sew Many Things in downtown Wyoming. You will be using state-of-the-art equipment. Sew Many Things provides an excellent sewing environment with state-of-the-art sewing machines, ironing machines, cutting stations, and much more.
Students will register with ArtsConnect and the class will be held at Sew Many Things, LLC. Classes are held on Mondays from 6:30 - 8:30 pm at Sew Many Things, 502 Wyoming Avenue, Cincinnati, 45215 (Wyoming). Sew Many Things is located in the Wyoming business district, above an eye doctor's office called, Sight.

Session 3 Quilt Top: Carpenter Star
The Carpenter Star Quilt will be great practice using the half square technique which can be used in many quilt designs. Finished size will be 60" x 72". Fabric requirements will be emailed after registration is complete. Fabric can be purchase at area fabric retailers, online, or at the Dina's studio on the first night of class (or earlier if arranged with Dina).
