ArtLocal Art Show
Friday, November 12, 2021
ArtsConnect brings the community together with a two-day celebration of the arts. This year, we will return to the The Centennial Barn, located at 110 Compton Road, where we will hold a gallery of artwork from residents of the community and surrounding cities.
The art show will kick off on Friday, November 12th with an evening artist reception. Light appetizers, live music, silent auction, raffle and a "People's Choice" award will fill the evening and give neighbors a chance to mingle and enjoy the art. There will be artistic performances and a few added surprises. Most of the artwork will be available for sale.
The gallery will reopen on Saturday, November 13th from 10:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. for art lovers to take a closer look and enjoy the art at their leisure.
Admission to the art show is free.

Bret Harper Presents "The Story of Charley Harper, Artist"
Question and answer to follow in this private ticketed engagement.
Charley Harper was a Cincinnati-based American Modernist artist. He was best known for his highly stylized wildlife prints, posters, and book illustrations. Born Charles Burton Harper in Frenchton, West Virginia in 1922, Harper's upbringing on his family farm influenced his work to his last days. He lived and raised his family in Springfield Township over fifty years. His son Brett will share Charley's story in a private engagement held at Centennial Barn on November 13, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. as a feature of the 9th annual ArtLocal Art Show.

Artists Round Table
Artists of ArtLocal and others that would like to participate are invited to a round table discussion regarding how ArtsConnect can support local artists. In this discussion, a concept for a website sales platform for artists will be explored. Ideas for ways artists could engage with Springfield Township will be brainstormed. Other topics may include teaching opportunities, as well as what artists would like to see for their own continuing education. Registration is not required. Simply show up.
