ArtLocal Art Show

ArtsConnect brings the community together with a two-day celebration of the arts. This year the show will be at the ArtsConnect Arts Center, opposed to the Centennial Barn.  Every room, top floor and lower level, will will hold a gallery of artwork from residents of the community and surrounding cities.  As an extra special attraction, this year the show will also include the traveling Ohio Watercolors Society show!

NEW THIS YEAR: All ArtLocal artwork will be entered for the show's three cash awards; 1st place will win $250, 2nd place will win $100 and 3rd place will win $50. The award announcements will be made on Friday, October 21 at 9p.m.   A ribbon will be awarded for "People's Choice" on Saturday. 

The art show will kick off on Friday, October 21 with an evening artist reception. Meet the artists and enjoy light appetizers, live music, a silent auction, raffle and awards ceremony.  There will be artistic performances and a few added surprises.  Most of the artwork will be available for sale.

The gallery will reopen on Saturday, October 22nd from 10:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.  for art lovers to take a closer look and enjoy the art at their leisure. 

Admission to the art show is Free.

I am an artist:

Have you ever wanted to show your artistic talent, but have been too intimidated to try? We want to take that fear away by inviting all artists in the community to show up to three pieces of art in the ArtLocal art show. This is a non-juried show that will celebrate art in all levels of ability. Your art will be on display for two days and you may sell your work.

Submitting Art to ArtLocal:

ARTIST REGISTRATION CLOSES OCTOBER 7. 
When registering, artists will first need to set up an ArtsConnect Account. Second, click on "Register Here".  Artists will need to know what they plan to show, the medium used and the selling price, if applicable. These questions will be asked at the checkout. 

Artwork is not required to be on sale. All sales will be handled by ArtsConnect and paid to the artist in full. - A 4% fee will be retained by ArtsConnect for credit card transactions. ArtsConnect does not collect a commission from sold works. A donation to the silent auction is greatly appreciated.

Categories of art include: original clay or porcelain ceramics, digital art, drawing, fiber, glass, jewelry, metal works, mixed media, painting, photography, print making, sculpture and wood.  We are unable to accept art over 5 ft in height. All art should be prepared, ready to hang with a wire. Unframed drawings, prints or photographs (etc.) can be hung with push pins. If any artwork is deemed inappropriate for a child, we will NOT display it. 


Turning in Art For the Show
Artwork that has been registered is to be dropped off at the Art Center on Wednesday, October 19 between the hours of 10am - 3pm. Any unsold work must be picked up at the Art Center on Saturday, October 22 between the hours of 2pm -4pm. We will not be able to store any artwork. Please ask a trusted friend or family member to drop off or pick up art if you are unable to .  


The entry fee for artists registering before SEPTEMBER 1 is $40. A On SEPTEMBER 2, the fee will be $45. No submissions will be accepted after October 8. The fees collected support advertising the event and offset the costs associated with the program. Artists may submit up to 3 original works under their entry fee.  

DELIVERY & PICK UP OF ART:
Artwork should be delivered to the ArtsConnect Arts Center Wednesday, October 19 between the hours of  10am - 3pm. We will take every effort to ensure the safety of the art submitted. We do require artists to sign a hold harmless agreement. Any unsold artwork will need to be picked on October 22 between the hours of 2:00 - 4:00 p.m.


HOLD HARMLESS AGREEMENT STATES THE FOLLOWING: I understand that the Springfield Township Arts and Enrichment Council will only generally supervise the location in which submitted artwork is displayed and that no security or personnel will be provided to particularly safeguard the artwork submitted. I understand that there is a possibility that the artwork I submit may be damaged or stolen during this event, and I hereby voluntarily release and hold harmless The Springfield Township Arts and Enrichment Council, Springfield Township, and the officers, employees, agents, and volunteers of each of them from any and all liability for any damage to, or loss of, any of my accepted artwork, whether such damage or loss is foreseeable or unforeseeable.
