ArtsConnect was selected by the Ohio Watercolors Society as a touring site for the 2021 Watercolor Ohio exhibition.
Watercolor Ohio is a competitive juried exhibition showcasing the talent, diversity and energy, of artists working in water soluble mediums: watercolor, acrylic, casein, gouache, and egg tempera. Selected artists’ works are exceptional paintings created by accomplished members of the Ohio Watercolor Society. Ohio residents and members of Ohio art organizations living in other states are eligible to enter.
Founded and incorporated in July 1978, the Ohio Watercolor Society was established by a group of seventeen Ohio artist who were members of the American Watercolor Society or whose works had been juried into a national exhibition of AWS, NWS, or Watercolor USA.
The purpose of OWS is to advance the stature of watercolor painting as a major painting medium, to assist the education in the area of aqueous painting, and to foster a greater appreciation and interest of both the individual artist and the general public.
To accomplish these goals, OWS sponsors an annual juried exhibition, watercolor workshops, critiques, demonstrations and lectures, and publishes a newsletter which shares interests and efforts in the field of aqueous painting.
All prize winners are included in the thirty-two painting Travel Show. Springfield Township ArtsConnect is pleased to host the second venue of this year-long, five location, state-wide tour at the Arts Center located at 9158 Winton Road, Cincinnati OH 45231.
