The property now known as the Springfield Township Senior & Community Arts Center was originally built in 1957 by the Kolping Society. The property was later purchased by Springfield Township in 1994 and renovated with Block Grant funds in 1995 to be used as a Community Senior Center. The Senior Center holds several meeting and classroom spaces, a library, woodshop and gift shop. Even today, the Center is staffed with many community volunteers who answer phones, plan programming for senior adults. In 2012 the Center became the host site for the Springfield Township Arts and Enrichment Council, now know as ArtsConnect™, to expanded family programs, including after school art classes, summer camps and painting programs. As the Springfield Township Arts & Enrichment Council continued to grow, the facility was informally renamed to be the Springfield Township Senior & Community Arts Center.
