Rehearsal Times:

February 17 - April 7, 2026
KIDS: Tuesdays 5:15 – 6:15 p.m.
JUNIORS: Tuesdays 6:15 - 7:30pm

  

The ArtsConnect All Kids Theater group will rehearse two months for their live show of Willy Wonka and Shrek 2. This stage adaptation is certain to charm and delight all audiences. Tickets are available in advance or at the door until sold out.

ArtsConnect is partnering with Performing Arts Inc. to offer children’s theater experiences. This program is appropriate for any experience level, beginner to advanced. There will be 8 - 9 weeks of rehearsals and then 2 community performances. Theater classes help to build confidence, strengthen their voice, broaden their skills and talent, and connect with friends.

AUDITIONS:
Auditions are used only for assigning parts. Everyone will be assigned a role in the show. Children will engage in a short audition on the Tuesday before the rehearsals begin. Auditions will be on February 10, 6:00 pm - 7:30 pm. Students will be asked to recite a short monologue and sing a 30-second song. Parents will be emailed a sample monologue and sign-up information for the audition about one week before the audition. 

The audition and rehearsals will be held at the ArtsConnect Annex  (building behind ArtsConnect and the fire station) 9158 Winton Rd, Cincinnati, 45231. 

REHEARSALS:
Rehearsals are held on Tuesdays, KIDS (ages 5-10) from 5:15 - 6:15 pm and JUNIORS (Ages 11-16) from 6:15pm - 7:35pm at the Grove Event Center, the building directly behind ArtsConnect.  The Grove is the last building in the complex. Parents will need to sign their child in and out.  

At ArtsConnect, we encourage children to explore their creativity independently to foster confidence and original thinking. While we ask that you sign your child in to class, to help your child gain the most from their class experience we kindly request that parents refrain from staying in the classroom.

During rehearsal, you may go to the ArtsConnect building where we invite you to enjoy our complimentary coffee and tea, free Wi-Fi, and comfortable seating areas indoors and outdoors. If there are special circumstances that require your presence, please reach out to our Education Director beforehand.

PERFORMANCES:
There will be two performances. Tickets for each show will be $10.  Bring your whole family to support the amazing young actors!

Students will be asked to provide their own costumes and make-up. Costume rentals are available for those interested.

Tickets are sold as a Friday show and/or a Saturday show and are valid for a single showtime during that day only.  Scanned codes will work one time, but will be valid for either time.  Entry tickets are located at the bottom of your receipt and can be printed or scanned from your phone at the arts center.

KIDS THEATER DIRECTOR:

Emma King has a BFA in Stage Management at CCM in the University of Cincinnati. She was the director of Lion King Kids, ArtsConnects' first Kids Theater program.  She has also directed and assistant directed many shows including: The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, You’re A Good Man, Charlie Brown, 13 the Musical, Legally Blonde, and The Addams Family, to name a few. She has also served as the Production Stage Manager for numerous shows including Little Shop of Horrors, Newsies, and You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown. Emma is overjoyed to have the opportunity to give kids a safe space to make mistakes and have fun creating theatre. She loves watching everyone grow as performers and people, and can’t wait to see what PAI’s newest performers bring to the stage.
