INDEPENDENT STUDY: DRAWING AND PAINTING 

Ages 15 and older 

Thursdays, 1:30 - 4:30 p.m. 

$90 for non-members 
$81 for members 

Work on your own painting and drawing projects. Instructor Greg Albert, will provide expert advice on solving composition, perspective, color, drawing and technical issues with positive and encouraging comments about how to improve your work. Students should be beyond beginner level and bring their own supplies and artwork.

There will be a maximum of 6 students per class which allows for lots of individual attention.

Classes will take place on Thursdays for 6-week sessions from 1:30 - 4:30 p.m. in the art room at ArtsConnect Springfield Township Arts Center, 9158 Winton Rd, Building A, behind the fire station.

Meet Your Instructor: Greg Albert

Greg Albert is a professional artist with more than 40 years of teaching experience, most recently in the Continuing Education Program at the Art Academy of Cincinnati. Greg is a graduate of the Art Academy and holds a BFA, MFA, and MA in art history. He is the author of two art instruction books: Drawing You Can Do It and The Simple Secret of Better Painting. Greg teaches drawing and painting in oils, acrylics and watercolor has presented workshops on perspective, pictorial composition, color theory, creativity and other topics. Greg has a knack for making complex concepts memorable and is known for his entertaining and effective teaching style. Join Greg for Exploring Acrylics on Wednesdays from 6:30 - 8:30 p.m and Thursdays from 1 - 3 pm.

  1. Class Cancellations & Weather Closings

    Don't wait to register! Classes may be cancelled to low registration or fill up before you have a chance to register. 

    Class cancellations due to weather will be made one hour prior to class start times and will be listed on the homepage of the ArtsConnect website at www.theartsconnect.us. To verify any weather closings, call 513-522-2108. In most instances, classes cancelled by weather will be made up by adding an additional class to the end of the session.

    Due to costs incurred planning for art classes, full refunds will only be issued when the ArtsConnect cancels the class. Class cancellations made within 10 business days of the class start date are eligible for a refund, minus a $5 administration fee per student or transfer to a new session.  View the full class refund policy here.
