The two-story Arts Center has been a gathering spot for well over 78 years. In the 1940’s the original part of the building (north side of the building) served as the German society’s Kolping Grove Club House. In 1992, Springfield Township purchased the property and expanded the floor plan for senior adult recreation. In 2020, the center took on a new life to invite creative exploration for all ages. The Springfield Township Senior Center closed in January, 2020 and reopened (under the unforseen pandemic) in July as the Springfield Township Arts Center, program and run by ArtsConnect. The renovations turned an old building into a beautiful space for creativity. The Center now includes a coffee bar, pottery studio, woodshop studio, three classrooms/meeting rooms, retail and gallery space, ADA restrooms and a laundry facility.
