POTTERY CLASSES RESUME JANUARY 2024

Adult Handbuilding Pottery Classes  


Ages 14 - older, 6-week sessions
Evenings: Mondays, 6:15 - 8:45 p.m. 

Mornings: Wednesdays, 10:00 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.

Handbuilding is taught by Kerri Bram

Score, slip, and press! Those are the first steps to working in clay. Participants will learn how to make slip properly and to use hand-building techniques such as making coils and slabs.  These techniques are the foundation to making clay pots.  Be inspired to create the most unique pot that is possible! Clay and glaze will be supplied.  


Ages 14 and older are taught on Monday evenings from 6:15 - 8:45 p.m. and Wednesday mornings from 10:00 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. Pick a time that works best for you! Classes will be held at ArtsConnect Springfield Community Arts Center, 9158 Winton Rd, Building A, behind the fire station.  The Adult class cost $140 for non-members and $126 for members for a six-week session.


All supplies are included: 25 lb clay, glaze, firing and use of tools, including a slab roller and texturing materials. 


No class on Memorial Day.

Handbuilding Instructor:  Kerri Bram

Kerri Bram is a long-time art educator teaching art since 2004.  She has taught all levels from PreK through adults in various educational environments. She received her BS in Fine Art and Art Education from the College of Mount St. Joseph and MA from the Cincinnati Art Academy. Kerri utilizes her creative skills to inspire students with an opportunity to develop media mastery in the arts. She is a nurturing art instructor that uses a variety of motivations to introduce students to each project creating a stimulating learning environment. Kerri hopes to “infuse into others, the passion that I have for reading, understanding and communicating through the use of signs and symbols to communicate concepts that are both personal and universal.” Kerri teaches the ArtsConnect Preschool Pottery, Kids and Adult Hand-building and Kids Drawing Painting classes.

Class Cancellations & Weather Closings

A minimum of four students must be enrolled for the session prior to the stated deadline for the class to take place (maximum 12 students). The Springfield Township Senior and Community Arts Center follows Finneytown School District inclement weather closings. To verify closings, call 513-522-2108. 

Due to costs incurred in planning for art classes, full refunds will only be issued when the Arts Council cancels the class. Class cancellations made within 10 business days of the class start date are eligible for a refund, minus a $5 administration fee per student. Refunds will be made by check, not to a credit card. To notify us of a cancellation, please send an email to artsinfo@springfieldtwp.org.
