Intro to Clay
INTRO TO CLAY
Ages 15 and older
Wednesdays, 6:30 p.m. - 9:00 p.m.
$165 for non-members per 6-week
$150 for members per 6-week
New to clay? Learn the basics of both hand-building and the pottery wheel in this 6-week introductory class. Two weeks will focus on basic hand-building techniques of slab, coil and pinch. While three weeks will give you experience in centering and throwing on the pottery wheel. The final class will be used for glazing. Materials included: 25 lb clay, glaze, firing and use of tools and wheel.

Intro Clay Instructor:
Chris Taulbee
Christopher Taulbee is the owner of Taul Arts Studio, an arts production company that offers commissioned art services, private art instruction and guitar instruction. Chris has worked both locally and nationally for companies to create signage, print media, web content, murals, logos and more!
Chris graduated in Fine Arts from the University of Cincinnati DAPP program. He is a proficient painter and potter. He works at Evandale Arts Center teaching Kids Summer Art Camp. He exhibits locally and participates in many art shows in Cincinnati.
Chris teaches Pottery, Oil Painting and Private Guitar lessons for ArtsConnect.

Class Cancellations & Weather Closings
Don't wait to register! Classes may be cancelled to low registration or fill up before you have a chance to register. Class cancellations due to weather will be made one hour prior to class start times and will be listed on the homepage of the ArtsConnect website at www.theartsconnect.us. To verify any weather closings, call 513-522-2108. In most instances, classes cancelled by weather will be made up by adding an additional class to the end of the session.
Due to costs incurred planning for art classes, full refunds will only be issued when the ArtsConnect cancels the class. Class cancellations made within 10 business days of the class start date are eligible for a refund, minus a $5 administration fee per student or transfer to a new session.
