Jewelry Enameling Workshops

Ages 15 and up 

Try one or all of our Enameling Workshops to learn the joy of working with melted colored enamels. You will learn how to prepare the metal, spread the enamel powder onto the metal and then heat it in an enameling kiln. Then finish your piece and take it home that day. These workshops are perfect for any lever, beginner to advanced. All supplies included.

The instructor, Karen Gasik, has taught for over 30 years-- most recently at Wyoming High. She will go through step-by-step instructions teaching the entire jewelry-making process. 

Classes are held on Thursdays from 6:30 - 8:30 pm at ArtsConnect Arts Center, 9158 Winton Road, the building behind the Springfield Township Fire Station.

COPPER PLAQUE

Discover and apply different enameling procedure in the creation of a copper enamel plaque. This workshop will guide participants thorough each step of the process, resulting in a professionally finished piece.

SILVER ENAMELED PENDANT

Create your own beautiful silver pendant as part of this workshop. Participants will explore various enameling techniques to design colorful patterns directly on their pieces. Each pendant will be finished professionally and will be ready to wear upon completion.

COPPER ENAMEL NECKLACE

Participants will design a copper enamel necklace by working with various copper shapes and using the enameling process. The separate pieces will be connected and completed with attention to detail. At the end of the workshop, all necklaces will be ready to wear.

Class Cancellations & Weather Closings

Class cancellations due to weather will be made one hour prior to class start times and will be listed on the homepage of the ArtsConnect website at www.theartsconnect.us. To verify any weather closings, call 513-522-2108. In most instances, classes cancelled by weather will be made up by adding an additional class to the end of the session.

Due to costs incurred planning for art classes, full refunds will only be issued when the ArtsConnect cancels the class. Class cancellations made within 10 business days of the class start date are eligible for a refund, minus a $5 administration fee per student or transfer to a new session.
