In this 1-day workshop, you will learn to safely use and operate a plasma cutter. Students will use tools and equipment to plasma cut and finish an antique hand saw to create a tree sculpture. Also, learn how to cost-effectively purchase equipment for working on metal sculptures.
All supplies included. Pease dress for the weather with closed toe shoes and bring a water bottle. Safety equipment will be furnished.
The workshop takes place at the Grove Outdoor Blacksmithing Studio, 9158 Winton Rd, Building B (behind ArtsConnect).
Students will design, plasma cut and weld metal to create a sculpture. This 3-week class emphasizes using reclaimed metal to create unique sculptures from whimsical characters to contemporary sculpture. Let your creativity go wild!

Please dress appropriately. No open-toed shoes and wear cotton clothing. Safety protective googles and gloves will be provided.
Class is held in our new metals studio at the Grove Event Center, behind the ArtsConnect building.
Don't wait to register! Classes may be cancelled to low registration or fill up before you have a chance to register.
Class cancellations due to weather will be made one hour prior to class start times and will be listed on the homepage of the ArtsConnect website at www.theartsconnect.us. To verify any weather closings, call 513-522-2108. In most instances, classes cancelled by weather will be made up by adding an additional class to the end of the session.
Due to costs incurred planning for art classes, full refunds will only be issued when the ArtsConnect cancels the class. Class cancellations made within 10 business days of the class start date are eligible for a refund, minus a $5 administration fee per student or transfer to a new session.
