Kids Sewing

Ages 8 - 13

Mondays, 4:30 - 6:00 p.m.

$80 for non-members per 6-week session $72 for members per 6-week session

Students learn the basics of sewing making fun and functional projects such as face masks, bags, scarfs, stuffed animals, and much more! This class is for kids of all levels. For beginners, students will make simpler projects developing their skills. Those that are more advanced will do appropriate higher-level projects. Projects will be individualized based on each student's level of experience.

All supplies are included, yet children are welcome to bring any fabrics they would like to use. Bring your own sewing machine or use one of ours.

Class Structure:

Kid's Sewing classes are taught in the Cardinal Room of ArtsConnect Community ArtsCenter (the building behind the fire station). No class week of Thanksgiving. All supplies are provided.

Classes are held at Springfield Township ArtsConnect, 9158 Winton Rd, Building B ( building is behind the fire station).

At ArtsConnect, we encourage children to explore their creativity independently to foster confidence and original thinking. While we ask that you sign your child in to class, to help your child gain the most from their class experience we kindly request that parents refrain from staying in the classroom.

During class, we invite you to enjoy our complimentary coffee and tea, free Wi-Fi, and comfortable seating areas indoors and outdoors. If there are special circumstances that require your presence, please reach out to our Education Director beforehand.

Workshops - Double the Fun Family Sewing Workshops

Want to try your hand at sewing without taking a 6-week class? Workshops are a great way to try out a new skill.  The Kids Sewing Workshops are 1-day classes that have a specific project.  These classes are all parent-child workshops. Each registration covers the cost of 2 participants, an adult and a child. Make some special memories in one of our Double the Fun Kids Sewing Workshops.

Class Cancellations & Weather Closings

A minimum of four students must be enrolled for the session prior to the stated deadline for the class to take place (maximum 12 students). The Springfield Township Senior and Community Arts Center follows Finneytown School District inclement weather closings. To verify closings, call 513-522-2108. 

Due to costs incurred in planning for art classes, full refunds will only be issued when the Arts Council cancels the class. Class cancellations made within 10 business days of the class start date are eligible for a refund, minus a $5 administration fee per student. Refunds will be made by check, not to a credit card. To notify us of a cancellation, please send an email to artsinfo@springfieldtwp.org.
